When playing the game of craps or online craps, it's best to always remember that you don't have the privilege on relying on your skills. All you have to help you win is LUCK. Also, when playing craps, you're not really betting against the casino unlike in blackjack but against the dice. The honest casinos are not the enemy here. It's the dice. So you have to be concerned about the odds you're facing and not the skills of the dealers.
There are a lot of simple strategies you can use when playing craps that will prove to be effective. These strategies simply deal with the odds you're facing on each bet. By knowing the odds, you'll be able to determine when it's the right time to make the right kind of bet.
Are you ready to learn then?
The Pass Bet
With the Pass Bet, you're betting for the shooter. Statistically speaking, the Pass Bet is your best bet when playing craps. Game-wise, it's also one of the easiest bets to understand and take. Hence, if you're new to craps and you simply wish to test the waters or see if you're lucky for the night, stick with the Pass Bet for the time being.
The Come Bet
Since the rules used for the Come Bet are congruent with those of the Pass Bet, the odds are naturally alike as well. And basically, that means that it's also advisable to take the Come Bet if you don't feel up to the challenge of facing greater odds yet!
The Don't Pass Bet and Don't Come Bet
Betting against the shooter is rare because it's like self-declaring yourself as Public Enemy #1 in the casino. When everyone feels downcast, you're rejoicing and vice versa. Also, it's statistically not advisable to bet against the dice so do take these kinds of bet if you're carrying a grudge against the shooter.
The Craps Field Bet
There are 16 ways you can win your craps or online craps field bet it could be even 18 if you include those that pay double money but there are 20 ways to lose. This means the casino has a 5.55% advantage whenever a Field Bet is made.
The Big 6 and Big 8 Bet
Although these bets are fairly simple to make, they are actually not that easy to win. Big 6 and Big 8 bets can be made any time; if you choose a 6, you're hoping that a 6 would come out before a 7. The same rules apply for the Big 8, only this time, change 6 to 8.
